Grading and Sewer Line Repair near Brownsboro Rd in Louisville, KY

July 14, 2025

We get a lot of calls to repair lawns in Louisville, KY after sewer work has been completed. We typically recommend waiting 3 - 6 months after most sewer line repairs to begin fixing your lawn.

Why?

It takes time for the ground to settle and if you try to fix it right away you will create a “bowl” in your lawn. If you still want to start to fix it right away, we can but it will most likely require a return visit about 3 months later to re-level the area.

When the time is right we will grade the area, add or remove top soil as needed, seed the area with Certified seed, and add straw. It takes the right materials, patience, and a lot of watering, but trust in the process!

In the meantime, we recommend starting with our fertilization and weed control program to control the weed growth in the area to give yourself a better environment to grow new grass.

We've been seeing an increase in brown spots that look dead in lawns around the Louisville area. It could be several different things - but one of those is a grub worm infestation.

Did you know that your lawn is made up of 1000s of individual grass plants? Seeding is one of the most important things you can do for your lawn’s overall health, appearance, and ability to naturally fight weeds. Seeding increases the total number of healthy grass plants in your lawn which boosts density. Achieving an ideal density helps to naturally suppress weeds because there isn’t space for them to establish.
